S.T.A.R Camp
Where:
St. Cloud, MN
Hosted by: St. Cloud Technical and Community College

STAR stands for Students, Technology and Robots. During this camp, teams of students build remote-controlled robots, while learning about the manufacturing processes of Mechanical Design, Machine Tool Technology, Welding/Fabrication and Industrial Electronics while doing so. The camp culminates in a competition, where the teams will drive their robots through an obstacle course designed by the SCTCC instructors.

ROBO Storm Summer Camp

East Grand Forks, MN
Hosted by: Northland Community & Technical College

Think of it as demolition derby combined with sumo wrestling but with robots instead of people. Twenty kids, grades 6 through 8, designed, programmed and built Lego robots during the second annual ROBO Storm Camp

SEaM Camp

Where:
Staples, MN
Hosted by: Central Lakes College

At this week-long camp, a record 43 students worked hands-on with electronics and robotics systems.  Competitions included a robot obstacle course, robot hockey, and a battlebot demolition derby.

Campers worked hands-on with technology while participating in a variety of fun activities, such as building solar cars and racing cardboard boats.

This overnight camp gave students the opportunity to develop math and science skills and test their creativity using robotics technology.

RoboStorm Camp 2010


At this two-day camp, student learn how to program Lego MindstormTM robots.  The campers use problem solving and teamwork to create robots that compete against each other on the final day of camp!

Students also tour a local manufacturing facility (eg. Arctic Cat, Polaris, Cirrus Designs) to understand how robotics, engineering, and mechanical design are implemented in the workplace.
