Capital Investments

In order to effectively enter the high-tech manufacturing industry, students need to learn high-tech skills on current equipment. By investing in current technology and resources, 360’s capital investments help partner colleges improve their on-campus programs.

360 has funded equipment purchases, faculty professional development, and new program development—all designed to provide industry better qualified employees. Projects have included:

  • Developing and updating fabrication and mechatronics labs
  • Curriculum development a variety of programs, including automation, industrial design, and medical devise production
  • Support for a MOTOMAN robotics training center
  • Equipment such as 3D printers and Baxter, an interactive production robot
  • Amatrol trainers

How it works

360 has a model peer-to-peer funding process, where proposals are evaluated by partner colleges and aligned with the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system and National Science Foundation priorities. Proposals must demonstrate that the project aligns with regional industry needs.

Training better employees

360 has invested over $3 million to improve education programs at our partner colleges.
